Admission
Offers of Admission for Ontario High School Students
Basic Requirements for Admission
Ontario high school students must present the OSSD and complete six 4U/M courses. All required courses will be included in the calculation of your overall admission average.
Failed and Repeated Courses
We will consider the higher grade of the 2 attempts.
Timing and Process for Admission Decisions
We will begin to issue a select number of offers in December and will continue to make offers of admission through to May. Scholarship and co-op offers will accompany offers of admission.
Consideration for early admission in December will be based on high academic standing on final 3U/M grades and registration in prerequisite 4U/M courses. A very limited number of offers to high achieving students will be extended. In February, the majority of offers of admission will be based on a minimum of 3 final or 6 interim 4U/M grades, as well as registration in prerequisite 4U/M courses. All offers will be conditional and subject to review based on subsequent grades. All other offers will be based on the best six 4U/M grades (midterm/interim and finals), including prerequisite courses. If you completed 6 or more 4U/M courses, you will be considered on the basis of your final grades. In the case of repeated courses, the higher grade will be used in the calculation of admission averages without penalty.
You can expect to receive an offer of admission to only 1 program. Your highest choice listed for Brock is considered first when more than 1 Brock program is indicated on your application. If you are not eligible for the first choice, consideration will be given to subsequent choices in the order of preference you indicated. If you apply to only 1 Brock program and do not qualify, in most cases, consideration will be given for an alternative and related program. In most cases if you apply for, but are not admitted to, a co-op program, you will automatically be considered for the regular, non co-op program.
Alternative Offers
You can expect to receive an offer of admission to only one Brock program. When more than one Brock program is indicated on the application, the highest choice listed for Brock will be considered first. If you are not eligible for the first choice, we will consider your subsequent choices in the order of preference you have indicated. If you apply to only one Brock program and do not qualify, in most cases consideration will be given for an alternate and related program. If you apply for but are not admitted to a co-op program, you will be considered automatically for the regular non-co-op program (if you have not included a second choice on the application).
