Carleton University

Carleton University - Canada's Capital University

Carleton University, located in Ottawa, is a dynamic research and teaching institution, with a tradition of leading change and promoting innovation. At Carleton, we provide high quality postsecondary education to more than 30,000 full- and part-time students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and our professors are renowned nationally and internationally for their scholarship and cutting-edge research.

We offer more than 100 undergraduate and graduate programs, a number of certificate and diploma programs, generous scholarships, and plenty of opportunities to gain valuable hands-on practical experience through practicums, field work, work placements and co-op programs. Our location in the nation's capital allows students access to resources unavailable elsewhere in the country. The diverse student population is drawn from across Canada and around the globe. As well, with more than 180 exchange partners in more than 30 countries, many of our students have been able to add a study-abroad component to their program.

Our beautiful riverside campus is only a short distance from Parliament Hill and a bustling downtown. The campus is well serviced by the city’s bus and light-rail system, and an extensive network of bicycle paths runs alongside the campus grounds. As a self-contained community, we are easy to navigate and all of our campus facilities are connected via underground tunnels.

From our very beginnings in 1942, we have welcomed the world, explored it in many fields of study and embraced the obligations of global citizenship. Curiosity, open-minded inquiry, ingenuity, entrepreneurship and a rigorous commitment to scholarship of the highest calibre – these are the qualities that we foster and celebrate. We hope you will come and visit our vibrant campus and see for yourself why so many students have chosen Carleton University for their academic journey.
