Honors Specialization in Thanatology (new for September 2018)

King’s University College is currently the only university in North America to offer the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Thanatology. This unique program gives students several degree options in Thanatology with the option of combining a major or minor in a complementary subject (i.e., Childhood and Social Institutions, Social Justice and Peace Studies or Psychology). Many of our courses are available online, and our program incorporates various teaching modalities including in-class instruction, blended learning and experiential learning.

Minor in Public History

A joint program offered by Huron University College, King's University College and Western University, Public History explores how history is understood by and communicated to the public. Explore the many ways to communicate about history: Museums, archives, historical sites, in films, fiction, on the web, and in policy making. History is all around us, and there are many different ways to share it. Students take courses from each of the institutions to earn the minor.

The Minor in Public History is the first of its kind in Canada at the undergraduate level. It is a great introduction to the field and excellent preparation for Western University's MA in Public History. Public History is built upon a blend of theory, historiography, hands-on practice, community based learning and community mentoring.

Finance and Wealth Management (Collaborative Program with Fanshawe College)

King’s University College, at Western University, and Fanshawe College have developed a unique pathway for earning a 3-year degree in Economics (major in Finance) and a 2-year diploma in Finance within a 4-year period. In addition to earning a degree from Western and a diploma from Fanshawe College, these graduates will also possess a number of certifications (i.e., Certified Financial Planner and Mutual Funds Licensing) as well as be prepared to write the exams for the Canadian Securities Course and Life Licensing Qualification Program, which will further enhance their career opportunities. Students apply directly to King's for consideration of admission to this program.
