University Research Checklist
When you are preparing to apply to university, you should research your options thoroughly and keep track of any deadlines to apply.
Note: If you are not an Ontario high school student enrolled in day courses, you should follow the application process for Canadian residents or international applicants not currently attending an Ontario high school.
Use the Following Publications and Resources to Research Your Options:
- eINFO for university and program options.
- University websites, admission handbooks, guidebooks, viewbooks and calendars for details about courses and programs.
- The Ontario Universities’ Fair (OUF) in Toronto each September – the only event where you can see all 21 Ontario universities in 1 place. Talk with students and professors, and get answers about programs, admission requirements, student life and more.
- Your local University Information Program (UIP) session this fall – UIPs take place at a host school in your region, and representatives from all of Ontario’s universities are available to answer your questions.
- Campus tours or special events that are scheduled by the universities that interest you.
- The 101 Online Application. Even before you are ready to apply, you can browse anonymously for additional program information.
- Your family, teachers and guidance counsellors. Their information and insight could help you make an informed decision.
