New for 2019:

Laurier will offer 4 Bachelor of Science programs beginning fall 2019.

Computer Science (BSc)

The study of computer science includes the fundamentals of programming, algorithm design and computation. It is also the study of applications, ranging from internet computing and writing apps for mobile computing to applied cryptography and quantum computing. Learn about data management and analysis, gaining a fundamental understanding of big data and its use within industry. 

Our Bachelor of Science Computer Science program provides hands-on experiences that are key to understanding computing fundamentals, with an optional introduction to functional, parallel and logical paradigms. Our Graduates are recognized as well-trained in the information industry and are known to succeed.

Data Science (BSc)

Data-driven decision making is quickly becoming the standard in almost every industry, creating an unprecedented demand for data-oriented professionals. Given the sheer volume of the data sets in question, it is nearly impossible to extract useful information without some degree of mathematical guidance and programming expertise.

The first undergraduate degree of its kind in Canada, our Data Science program seeks to address the data-related needs of modern business and industry. Study mathematics, statistics, data analytics, and computing technologies and methods. Graduates of this program are ready for many career opportunities in a wide range of industries.

Environmental Science (BSc)

Learn to identify environmental challenges and assess solutions based on fundamental principles of how organisms perform in their interactions with their biological, geochemical and physical environments.

Our Environmental Science program unites important concepts and teachings from related sciences to understand how physical and chemical processes affect rock, soil, air and water, which then influences the distribution, abundance and performance of living organisms. As a graduate of this program, you will be able to communicate to diverse audiences for a number of purposes, such as helping to restore ecosystems and environmental advocacy.

Honours Science (BSc)

Are you passionate about science, but unsure of what discipline to major in? You have the freedom to discover your own path in this broad-based science program. Define and pursue your interests across a variety of scientific disciplines, before committing to a major. Or you can decide not to major at all and study courses from all aspects of science and graduate with a broad-based science degree. Either way, you will be prepared for future studies in professional or academic science-related fields.

Tailor your degree to your career aspirations and post-graduation plans in this program while you develop a myriad of research, analytics and technical skills.

This program is pending Senate approval and approval from the Ontario Universities Council on Quality Assurance.
