Geographical Information Systems

Trent University

Geographical Information Systems is a collaborative program with Fleming College. It is available to students in the Honours BSc or BA program at Trent University in Geography or in Environmental & Resource Science. Students admitted to the program register as full-time Fleming College students during the third year of their Honours program at Trent. Interested students should consult with the Chair(s) of the appropriate department or programs at Trent.

Civil law comprises the basic rules of human activity that are, in part, legislated in a civil code. Civil law is in force in Quebec and much of the non-English-speaking world. Upon completing the degree, you are admissible to Quebec’s École du Barreau or uOttawa’s notarial law master’s program (in French).

Offered by Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, the Juris Doctor (JD) is a 3-year degree involving 6 terms (fall and winter) of full-time study. While most students attend Osgoode full-time for the full 3 years of study, some students may choose to spend a term or year studying abroad, and students in the joint and combined programs will spend a portion of their time at another faculty or institution to graduate with dual degrees after 4 years.

The program leading to the degree of Juris Doctor (J.D.) requires admission as a full-time student for 3 years or as a half-time student for 6 years. Our admissions program is different from others. At Windsor Law, we review all applications for admission through a very holistic lens. Candidates have the opportunity to provide the Admission Committee with a range of information that supports their application for entry.

Three-year program leading to a JD degree. Three years of undergraduate study are required; however, almost all admitted students have completed a 4-year undergraduate degree. There are no required academic prerequisite courses. LSAT is required. Most successful applicants present an "A" or higher on their best 3 full-time undergraduate years of study.

One year of university study and prerequisites are required. Academic courses required are the following: 1 half a course in Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Social Science. Successful completion of program leads to BScMedRadSci degree.

U of T offers a 4-year program leading to an MD degree. Three years of undergraduate study are required. Academic prerequisites include 2 full-course equivalents in life sciences and 1 full-course equivalent in humanities, social sciences or languages. MCAT is required.

Translational and Molecular Medicine

The Bachelor of Science with Honours in Translational and Molecular Medicine (TMM) is a unique collaborative effort between the Faculty of Medicine’s researchers and its affiliated institutes. The program integrates theoretical and practical courses with e-learning, offering students an enriching educational environment and exposing them to innovative research throughout their studies.

TMM offers the largest number of advanced laboratories for an undergraduate program in Canada. Students are taught by both basic scientists and clinicians, providing them with the skill sets required to perform cutting-edge biomedical research.

Admission requirements: 2 years of undergraduate science education or the equivalent (60 credits) with a minimum CGPA of 7.7.

The University of Ottawa is the only medical school in North America that offers the MD Program in both official languages, English and French. Students select their language of study during the application process. On average, 164 students are enrolled each new academic year, comprised of roughly 116 in the Anglophone stream and 48 in the Francophone stream.

The application process and admissions process are the same for all categories of applicants.

Admission requirements: Prior to June preceding registration, applicants must have completed a minimum of 3 years of full-time undergraduate studies at a recognized university in a program leading to a bachelor's degree, including the following prerequisites: 2 courses in humanities/social sciences, 2 courses in biology or zoology, and 4 courses in general chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry.

Physician Assistant Education Program:
The PA Education Program is a 2-year course of study delivered over a 24-month period beginning in September. Year 1 consists of clinical science courses delivered in the first 12 months. Year 2 consists of clinical training delivered in the next consecutive 12-month period. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 2 years of undergraduate work.

The Northern Ontario School of Medicine serves as the Faculty of Medicine for Lakehead University in Thunder Bay and Laurentian University in Sudbury and, upon acceptance into the MD Program, students are assigned to 1 of these 2 host universities.

Admission Requirements:

  • - Canadian citizen or permanent resident (landed immigrant).
  • - Four-year undergraduate degree. Applicants may apply in the final year of their program.
  • - Mature applicants (25 years of age or older at the time of the application deadline) may apply with a 3-year degree.
  • - Overall minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • - NOSM does not require the MCAT.

Music Performance Diploma (3-Year Program)

Western University

Certificate and Diploma Programs

The Music Performance Diploma is a 3-year program designed for students who are also concurrently enrolled in a non-music degree. The program is flexible and permits students to focus exclusively on music study. It offers weekly 1-hour lessons. Although diploma holders represent performers of high artistic achievement, graduate schools generally require an academic degree as well. New applicants to the Music Performance Diploma program who are new to Western University should contact the Recruitment Officer, Sasha Gorbasew (agorbase@uwo.ca), before applying.

Music Therapy

Music Therapy develops a client's potential abilities and enhances their quality of life by using music to address physical, emotional, intellectual or learning challenges. As a student, participate in a variety of group and individual music therapy placements in our on-site clinics and throughout the community with a diverse set of clients including those with learning disabilities, autism, special needs, adolescents and geriatrics. You can apply to the Bachelor of Music Therapy at the end of your second year in Laurier’s Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Music in Community Music. Admission is based on:
- high standing in Laurier music and psychology courses
- evidence of strong interpersonal skills
